Sanskriti Qatar is a socio-cultural organization registered under the Indian Cultural Center (ICC), the apex body of the Embassy of India. Distinguished among migrant Keralite organizations, Sanskriti is dedicated to advancing socio-cultural activities, with approximately 6,000 active members and a cumulative total of 30,000 enrollments to date. The organization comprises 11 units representing different regions of Qatar, along with a women's wing called "Vanithavedi," dedicated to female members, and a children's wing named "Kalikootam" for the children of Sanskriti members.
Lecture Series
Sanskriti regularly organizes lectures and discussions on current affairs of interest to its members. Eminent personalities from various fields have participated in these series, including notable socio-cultural leaders like Dr. Sukumar Azhikkode, M.N. Vijayan, Prof. M.K. Sanu, and Dr. Sunil P. Ilayidom.
Arts Festival
The organization provides a platform for members to showcase their artistic talents through various events. Additionally, Sanskriti brings renowned artists from Kerala to present captivating performances in music and dance for the Malayali audience in Qatar.
Abhinaya Sanskriti
Sanskriti is always at the forefront for the drama artists and drama lovers, conducting regular workshops and practice camps for drama enthusiasts. Many acclaimed dramas have been performed on stages in Doha, attracting large audiences.
Literary Club
Monthly literary discussions focus on prominent publications in Malayalam literature. Sanskriti encourages members by providing a platform to release their own books. C.V. Sreeraman Literary Award Established 10 years ago, the prestigious C.V. Sreeraman Sahitya Award supports and encourages migrant Keralite short story writers in the Gulf region. Since 2022, the award has been open to all migrant Malayalam short story writers globally, making it a unique honor in its 11th year.
Ardra Nilav
This platform celebrates Malayalam poetry, featuring competitions across various age categories. Performances are evaluated by prominent poets from Kerala. Film Club A space for discussing classic films and their production.
Sports Club
Sanskriti promotes health and entertainment through sports, organizing tournaments in football, cricket, badminton, chess, and carrom. A yearly sports day also features competitions in track and field events.
Medical Camps
Regular medical camps are conducted in collaboration with local hospitals, providing essential health assessments and referral support for low-income migrant workers. Typically, 3-4 camps are held annually in various parts of Qatar
Blood Donation Camps
In partnership with the Hamad Blood Donation Center, Sanskriti organizes blood donation drives among its members 2-4 times a year. Medical and Legal Support Sanskriti extends compassionate assistance to members facing medical emergencies and provides support for repatriation in serious situations, as well as legal aid when necessary.
NORKA - Expatriate Welfare Services
Sanskriti is committed to assisting migrant laborers with enrollment in NORKA and other welfare schemes. A help desk operates daily from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Sanskriti office in Najma, with an additional help desk at the Skills Development Center in New Salata operating every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5 PM to 8 PM. The organization also conducts campaigns to raise awareness about government welfare initiatives.
Malayalam Mission Qatar
Sanskriti Chapter Sanskriti runs a chapter of the Malayalam Mission to promote the Malayalam language, culture, and heritage among children of the diaspora. The Malayalam Mission operates under the Cultural Ministry of the Government of Kerala.
